A New Level

Audio Engineering & Music Business |
Recording music had always been a hobby of mine. I spent my teenage years playing in bands and interning in studios in Hong Kong. After completing my university degree, I felt that I needed to take this hobby of mine and turn it into a serious career choice. I remember my first meeting with the administration at PAVI; they were very receptive and even gave my mixes a listen. Even before my admission, the instructors were engaging in deep conversations about the theories of mixing and how audio manipulation works. I felt relieved and inspired, for I had found an institution that would foster my deep appreciation for music and music production. I knew then that this school was the right choice for me. The facilities at Blue Wave are second to none and the instructors and staff have a vast wealth of knowledge about the industry and the theories and concepts behind music production. Admission to this school was the only logical choice for me, as I already knew that I would become much more than I ever could have as an audio engineer if I learned from these people.
AEP Program
This year-long program covers all the essential elements of audio production ranging from studio maintenance to live sound setup and calibration. Furthermore, the focus of audio engineering and studio class gives students a hands-on experience in one of Canada’s best equipped studios. The instructors are all extremely capable and they all have a wealth of industry experience. Their knowledge of the subject materials is undoubtedly strong, and they are always receptive to questions and ideas.

The basic materials covered in the course will give a student a very good idea about how the industry works, the expectations of employers, and a solid fundamental knowledge in audio engineering. To gain a deeper knowledge in this subject, it is imperative that students openly engage in conversation with the instructors and ask questions; there is much more to be gained from this program than just the fundamentals. The internship program at PAVI is an excellent idea for aspiring engineers; the intern monitor assigns real jobs to the interns and they are tasked with finding a solution to the problem. Of course, if they truly are stuck, the instructors will help, but it is remarkable to see your skills develop as you learn more in class and in the studio. The internship program is the best preparation for finding a real job in the industry; it challenges individuals and gives them real tasks to complete.
Conclusion
I would recommend this program for those who are very serious about working in the audio field; the topics in class are very relevant in the real world. It is important that students try their best to engage the materials, as this class is not designed for students to be passive. If you are serious about audio, then this program will build your skills and elevate you to a new level where you can succeed in the industry.
